The Welcoming Committee exists to help new GREED members feel comfortable, informed, and connected within the Free Company community.

Joining a large FC can feel overwhelming at first, and the Welcoming Committee helps bridge that gap by reaching out to new members, answering questions, and encouraging involvement throughout the community.

Committee Objectives

The Welcoming Committee is responsible for:

  • Greeting new FC members through Discord and occasional in-game interaction
  • Helping new players understand the Discord server and FC structure
  • Answering general community-related questions
  • Encouraging involvement in FC events and committees
  • Helping foster friendships and community among newer members
  • Checking in with members periodically to ensure they are settling in comfortably

What the Committee Does NOT Handle

Official Mentorship

The Welcoming Committee does not replace the FC Mentor Program.

Mentorship and long-term gameplay guidance are handled separately through:

  • Approved FC mentors
  • Mentor applications
  • The official mentoring system

HR or Serious Member Issues

If a new member expresses:

  • Serious concerns
  • Harassment issues
  • Community conflicts
  • HR-related complaints

Those matters are forwarded directly to committee leadership or FC leadership for proper handling.

  • Make sure everything is going smoothly

We understand the FC can feel overwhelming at first, and these check-ins are intended to help make things easier.

Can I provide feedback or suggestions to my greeter?

Absolutely.

One of the committee’s goals is helping leadership understand:

  • Member concerns
  • Suggestions
  • Community feedback
  • Ways the FC can improve

Any feedback shared with greeters can be passed along to leadership for follow-up when appropriate.

GREED regularly hosts giveaways specifically for newer FC members.
